Health Proactivists Initiative welcomes Advisory Board

Meet Our Foremost Allies

At the Health Proactivists Initiative (HPI), we believe that no one should struggle with chronic disease prevention or care, regardless of their location or income.

As we continue to grow and restructure for greater impact, we're thrilled to welcome seven professionals and advocates to join our 2025/2026 Advisory Board and support our next chapter. Each one brings expertise and experience across health, policy, law, business, marketing, and nonprofit development, and all share our commitment to end premature NCD deaths in Nigeria.

Why This Advisory Board Matters

The advisory board will support strategy development across governance and operations for increased efficiency and accountability. They also bring their unique perspectives to our evidence-based programmes, expand partnerships beyond health, and support our commitment to staying true to what matters most: people.

Meet Our Advisory Board Members

Abolaji John Kalejaiye

A medical doctor in training, Abolaji has experience leading teams of young people to advocate for improved health service delivery models. He is a participant at the International Model United Nations and a Millennium fellow. Abolaji will guide HPI’s efforts to support youth-led policy reforms in NCD prevention and care in Nigeria, focusing on those who most need it.

Dada Yusuff, MPP Oxon.

With experience in governance, public policy, and development, Dada has advised both state governments in Northern Nigeria and global foundations. His lens on systems reform is precisely what we need to push for systemic change in Nigeria’s approach to non-communicable diseases (NCDs) prevention and care.

Janet Gogo Wellington
Janet is a communications and marketing strategist with a global portfolio. She has supported brands in their positioning within the ecosystems they serve for growth, led powerful campaigns, and served as a Youth Ambassador for ONE.org and the World Literacy Organisation. She’ll help us shape how we share our story in ways that inspire action.

Peju Ogundipe, MBA, MSc, BPharm
Peju has spent her career at the intersection of global health, business development, and strategic systems change. From advancing HIV care in Nigeria to leading mental health operations in the U.S., she brings a results-driven mindset and a deep commitment to equity in non-communicable disease (NCD) prevention and control.

Dr. Chiamaka Ehiedu
A Senior Registrar in Radiation Oncology at University College Hospital, Ibadan, Dr. Ehiedu is committed to overcoming barriers to cancer prevention, early detection and treatment. His insights will be key to shaping our oncology-related efforts, including demand generation for preventive services and advocacy to strengthen the health systems that supply these services, especially in underserved communities.

Dr. Chikaodili Erica Odoh
A physician with half a decade of experience delivering primary care, including in underserved communities, Dr Odoh’s experience in the non-profit sector focuses on innovative communication approaches that build trust and spur action among community residents. This, in addition to her expertise in successfully co-leading HPI’s past projects, affords a grounded standpoint in our discussions.

This is more than a team, it's a collective force of experience, strategy, and heart. We’re excited for the journey ahead.

With their support, we’ll stay committed to strengthening systems, amplifying the importance of NCD prevention, and bringing lifesaving primary care to the people and places that need it most.
